José Charbonneau (born November 21, 1966 in Ferme-Neuve , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player . He also played as a professional inline hockey player in the North American Roller Hockey International .
Career
As a junior he played with the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the Canadian Junior League Québec Major Junior Hockey League and was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft to a total of twelfth. They used him from 1986 in their then farm team , with the Canadiens de Sherbrooke in the American Hockey League .
In the next seasons he was used in addition to the NHL teams of the Montreal Canadiens and the Vancouver Canucks also with the Canadiens de Sherbrooke in the AHL and the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League , before becoming a member of Team Canada in the 1990/91 season has been. He then moved to Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga for the EHC Eisbären Berlin for the 1991/92 season , which he helped with promotion to the Bundesliga . Back in Canada, he played again in the 1992/93 season with Team Canada before moving to Europe again for the rest of the season to the Smoke Eaters Geleen in the Netherlands . Back in Canada he played again in the next two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, where he also came to use with the Hamilton Canucks in the AHL and the Las Vegas Thunders in the IHL.
In the summer of 1995 he moved again to Europe this time to the EV Landshut in the DEL . In the following season he only started in Landshut before moving to the Wedemark Scorpions during the season within the DEL . In the summer of 1997 he moved within the league to Frankfurt to the Frankfurt Lions , for whom he played until the 2000/01 season and then ended his career.
As a professional inline hockey player , Charbonneau went on the ice in the 1993 season in Roller Hockey International for the Vancouver Voodoo . There he was the best scorer in the league with 68 points from 14 games.
