José Luis Gerardo Ponce de León
José Luís Gerardo Ponce de León IMC (born May 8, 1961 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Manzini .
Life
José Luís Gerardo Ponce de León joined the congregation of Consolata Missionaries on January 9, 1983, professed on December 28, 1985, and was ordained a priest on August 2, 1986 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 24, 2008 titular Bishop of Maturba and Vicar Apostolic of Ingwavuma . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in South Africa , James Patrick Green , on April 18, 2009; Co- consecrators were Buti Joseph Tlhagale OMI , Archbishop of Johannesburg , and Michael Rowland OFM , Former Bishop of Dundee .
Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Manzini on November 29, 2013 . The inauguration took place on January 26 of the following year. Until the appointment of his successor Mandla Siegfried Jwara on April 30, 2016, he was in charge of the administration of the Apostolic Vicariate Ingwavuma as Apostolic Administrator .
