José Melgoza Osorio

José Melgoza Osorio (born February 17, 1912 in Coalcomán, Michoacán , Mexico ; † September 4, 2007 in Villa de Álvarez , Colima , Mexico) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Nezahualcóyotl .

Life

José Melgoza Osorio was ordained a priest there on December 7, 1938 .

On May 18, 1970 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Ciudad Valles . The episcopal ordination received his Emilio Abascal y Salmerón , Archbishop of Jalapa , on 29 June 1970; Co- consecrators were Alfonso Sánchez Tinoco , Bishop of Papantla , and Manuel Pío López Estrada , Old Archbishop of Jalapa.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on February 5, 1979 as the first bishop of the diocese of Nezahualcóyotl .

On March 15, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted the resignation of José Melgoza Osorio for reasons of age.
