José Vieira de Lima

José Vieira de Lima TOR (born June 10, 1931 in Poconé ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of São Luíz de Cáceres .

Life

José Vieira de Lima joined the Order of the Regular Franciscans - Terciaren and was ordained a priest on December 7, 1958 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Marabá on April 18, 1990 . The Archbishop of São Paulo , Paulo Evaristo Cardinal Arns OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Geraldo Verdier , Bishop of Guajará-Mirim , and José Afonso Ribeiro TOR, Prelate of Borba .

On November 11, 1998 he was appointed Bishop of São Luíz de Cáceres. On July 23, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
