history

The territorial prelature Borba was on July 13, 1963 by Pope Paul VI. with the papal bull Ad Christi divini from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Manaus and the territorial prelature of Parintins erected. The territorial prelature was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Manaus as a suffragan .
