José de Jesús Guzmán y Sánchez (born December 24, 1864 in Santa María de la Mercedes del Oro , Guanajuato , Mexico ; † January 20, 1914 in Tampico , Tamaulipas ) was Bishop of Ciudad Victoria-Tamaulipas .

Life

José de Jesús Guzmán y Sánchez received the sacrament of ordination in 1888 after studying Catholic theology and philosophy .

On November 12, 1909, Pope Pius X appointed him Bishop of Ciudad Victoria-Tamaulipas. The Archbishop of Linares o Nueva León , Leopoldo Ruiz y Flores , donated to him on 24 February 1910 in the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepcion in Tampico the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Chihuahua , Nicolás Pérez Gavilán y Echeverría , and the Bishop of Sonora , Ignacio Valdespino y Díaz . The inauguration took place on March 6th of the same year.
