Jose Chirackal

Jose Chirackal (born July 14, 1960 in Karukutty , Kerala ) is an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Tura .

Life

After attending St. Paul's Minor Seminary , Jose Chirackal studied philosophy at Christ King College and Catholic theology at Oriens Theological College in Shillong . He received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Anthony's College . Chirackal received on 29 December 1987 by the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After ordination Jose Chirackal was until 1991 parochial vicar of St. Joseph's Church in Selsella before going for further studies after Rome was sent, where he attended the Pontifical Urban University , the licentiate and later a doctorate in the subject canon law earned. From 1995 to 2004 Chirackal Regens was at St. Peter's Minor Seminary in Tura . In 2004 he became diocesan chancellor and diocesan economist as well as official and press spokesman for the Tura diocese. Jose Chirackal was also pastor of the Mary of Help of Christians Cathedral in Tura from 2009 to 2011 . In 2011 he became Regens of the Oriens Theological College and Secretary of the Vocational Pastoral and Priestly Education Commission in the Northeast Region. From 2014 to 2019 Chirackal worked as a marriage bond defender at the Church Court of the Tura diocese and again as a diocesan economist . In July 2019 he finally became pastor of St. Luke's Church in Walbakgre and director of the pastoral center. In October 2019, at the invitation of missio Aachen , he was a guest in various dioceses in Germany on the occasion of the campaign for World Mission Sunday .

On 24 February 2020 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of acufida and Auxiliary Bishop of Tura. The Bishop of Tura, Andrew Marak , ordained him episcopal on July 4th of that year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Tura, George Mamalassery , and the bishop of Bongaigaon , Thomas Pulloppillil , and the bishop of Jowai , Victor Lyngdoh .
