Josef Bisa (born January 2, 1908 in Brunnen ; † October 25, 1976 there ) was a Swiss sculptor .

biography

Between 1923 and 1927 Bisa completed an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor in Zurich . After working in Olten , Solothurn , Maulbronn and Düsseldorf as well as further training in Paris, he returned to Brunnen and opened his first studio there in 1935. In 1939 he had to move in as part of the general mobilization . Bisa was married and had a son. He maintained friendships with Heinrich Danioth , Paul and Othmar Schoeck . After his death in 1976, his unfinished works could be saved.
