Josef Bulitta

Josef Bulitta (born April 25, 1908 in Köslienen , Allenstein district in Warmia , East Prussia ; † June 10, 1979 in Würzburg ) was a German lawyer with a doctorate , nonfiction and textbook author, founder of the "Action for Life" and recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit .

He was a younger brother of Alois and Franz Bulitta . After attending elementary school in his home town of Köslienen from 1915 to 1922, Bulitta attended the advanced training school there from 1922 to 1925. He then worked from 1925 to 1929 in his father's farm in Köslienen. From April 1929, he attended the St. Clemens grammar school for secular priests and late-career professionals up to the senior level in Aschaffenburg . He then passed the Abitur in 1934 in Bingen am Rhein. He studied Catholic philosophy and theology in Braunsberg / East Prussia for three semesters . After completing his studies, from 1936 to 1939, he became a judicial trainee in Hof an der Saale and passed the examination for the middle higher judicial service. From 1939 he worked at the local court in Scheinfeld . In 1940 he was seconded to the Gumbinnen District Court. Later he was a judicial officer at the courts in Wormditt and Willenberg in East Prussia. After the war he became chairman of the court in Scheinfeld. He later studied law and completed his studies in 1949 with a dissertation at the University of Erlangen . From 1949 to 1973 he was a public prosecutor and later a guardianship judge in Scheinfeld.

Based on his experience as a guardianship judge, he founded the “Action for Life” in Scheinfeld in 1974 , of which he also became chairman. He was committed to single mothers, arranged adoptions and jobs and campaigned for the construction of a home. The association took in expectant mothers and helped give birth in a private clinic. Because of his tireless social commitment he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1976 .

Bulitta also wrote several articles about the customs in Warmia . The son Benno Bulitta , born in 1950 in Würzburg, is an economist, university professor and local politician (CSU).
