Josef Laßl

Josef Laßl (also Lassl; born March 17, 1915 in Nöstlbach-St. Marien ; † April 13, 1977 in Linz ) was an Austrian journalist , music and literary critic as well as poet and writer . He was the first recipient of the Georg Trakl Prize for Poetry , an honorary professor and a full member of the Adalbert Stifter Institute .

Life

Laßl was a student at the Humanistic Gymnasium in Linz and a student at the University of Vienna , where he obtained his doctorate in philosophy .

After the Second World War and his captivity as a prisoner of war , the late returnee worked as a writer in Salzburg , Vienna and Linz. In occupied post-war Austria, he became department head of the US- controlled radio station Rot-Weiß-Rot in Salzburg .

Most recently, Laßl worked as a cultural editor for the Upper Austrian News .
