Josef Georg Menschik (born March 23, year unknown in Vienna ; † August 30, 1980 ) was an Austrian actor and operetta buffo , who was mainly used in supporting roles in the film.

The son of the singer and choir director Clemens Menschik and his wife Friederike von Setti received his artistic training at the Academy for Music and Performing Arts in his hometown Vienna. Early engagements led Josef Menschik to theaters in Innsbruck, Karlsbad, the Vienna City Theater, to Munich, Augsburg and the Raimund Theater in Vienna . In his hometown, in the middle of the Second World War , film also gained importance in his career.

In 1942, Menschik made his film debut with a small supporting role in the comedy Two Happy People by EW Emo , in which the then married couple Magda Schneider and Wolf Albach-Retty played the leading roles. A collaboration with Wolf Albach-Retty also resulted in Menschik's next film The White Dream of Géza von Cziffra , in which he played a theater manager.
