Josef Plaseller

Josef Plaseller (born February 22, 1812 in Brixen , † April 23, 1877 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian physician and stenographer .

Life

Plaseller studied at the universities of Vienna , Prague , Padua and Pavia . In Pavia he was in 1836 with the dissertation De Aquis Soteriis Circuli Pustrissae Et Ad Eisacum in Comitate Tirolensi to Dr. med. PhD . He was also Dr. chir. as well as Masters of Obstetrics and Ophthalmology . He was then a doctor in Rattenberg , Weißenbach and Imst .

Plaseller became district doctor in Innsbruck kk in 1851 , director of the Innsbruck General Hospital in 1857 and later a medical councilor as well as a member and deputy chairman of the Tyrolean State Medical Commission . When it was founded, he became the first director of the Tyrolean Provincial Birth and Finding Institute. In addition, until his death he was first chairman of the Tyrolean stenographers' association founded in 1861 and president of the examination committee for teaching stenography in Innsbruck. He was regarded as the central promoter of shorthand in Tyrol.

Plaseller was also a corresponding member of the state medical association of the Grand Duchy of Baden and a member of the central committee of the agricultural association for Tyrol and Vorarlberg.

Plaseller was awarded the Franz Joseph Order and the Golden Cross of Merit with the crown .
