Josef Rattensperger

Josef Rattensperger (born April 6, 1807 in Bruck / Pinzgau , † April 21, 1866 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian painter.

Life

Rattensberger was best known as a church painter in the style of the Nazarenes. From the mid-1830s he made numerous frescoes and altar paintings. He was also traveling in Austria as a ceiling painter and wall painter. Lithographs were also part of his repertoire.
