Josef Rauch (sculptor)
Josef Rauch (* 1868 in Baden-Baden ; † February 12, 1921 in Berlin ) was a German sculptor .
Life
Josef Rauch studied at the Munich Academy . From 1900 he carried out building sculptures for various buildings in Berlin. These included, for example, the facade figures for the Wertheim department store on Leipziger Platz on behalf of Alfred Messel . For the Berlin city planner Hermann Blankenstein and his successor Ludwig Hoffmann , he created sculptures for various school buildings. Hoffmann also commissioned him with sculptures for the town house and for the fairy tale fountain in the Friedrichshain park . From 1919 Rauch taught architectural sculpture at the Technical University of Charlottenburg .

- 1910–1911: Building sculpture at the former technical and advanced training school (today adult education center), Linienstraße 162 in Berlin-Mitte
- 1910: Sculpture and fountain decorations in the hospital garden of the former Buch convalescent home (today Buch Clinic) together with Ignatius Taschner and Georg Wrba , Wiltbergstrasse 50–90 in Berlin-Buch
- 1912: Wall grave (B 5–6) for the architect Julius Habicht (1874–1912), in the cemetery in Berlin-Schmargendorf
