Joseph-Roméo Gagnon (born February 24, 1903 in Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover , Québec , Canada , † February 18, 1970 in Edmundston ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Edmundston .

Life

Joseph-Roméo Gagnon attended the Episcopal Boys' Seminar in Nicolet from 1916 to 1924 . Then Gagnon studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in Nicolet. He received on 8 July 1928 in the chapel of the seminary by the bishop of Nicolet , Joseph Simon Herman Brunault , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Until 1929 Joseph-Roméo Gagnon was parish vicar in the parish of Saint-Paul de Chester . From 1929 to 1932 he taught philosophy and mathematics at the Episcopal Boys' Seminar in Nicolet. 1932 Gagnon was for further studies to Rome sent, where he in 1936 at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas , the licentiate acquired in philosophy and specialized canon law doctorate was.
