Joseph Marie Régis Belzile

Joseph Marie Régis Belzile OFMCap (born March 13, 1931 in Amqui , Québec , Canada ; † September 4, 2018 in Montreal ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Moundou .

Life

Joseph Marie Régis Belzile joined the religious order of the Capuchins and received him on February 11, 1961 the sacrament of priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 19, 1974 Bishop of Moundou. The episcopal ordination donated him the Apostolic Delegate in Chad and in the People's Republic of the Congo , Archbishop Mario Tagliaferri , on 6 April 1975; Co- consecrators were Joachim N'Dayen , Archbishop of Bangui , and Samuel-Louis-Marie-Antoine Gaumain, OFMCap, Bishop Emeritus of Moundou.

John Paul II accepted his early resignation on March 9, 1985
