Joseph Nunzio Latino

Joseph Nunzio Latino (born October 21, 1937 in New Orleans ) is an American clergyman and bishop emeritus of Jackson .

Life

The Apostolic Administrator of New Orleans, John Patrick Cody , ordained him a priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans on May 25, 1963 . He was incardinated in 1977 in the clergy of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Jackson on January 3, 2003 . The Archbishop of Mobile , Oscar Hugh Lipscomb , ordained him episcopal on March 7 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were John Clement Favalora , Archbishop of Miami , and William Russell Houck , Former Bishop of Jackson. As a motto he chose Ut unum sint .

On December 12, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
