Joseph Steininger

Joseph Steininger (born July 1, 1858 in Holzolling , † June 4, 1931 in Feldkirchen-Westerham ) was a mill owner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Steininger attended the elementary school in Holzolling from 1864 to 1871 and the agricultural school in Landsberg from 1874 to 1876 . In 1880 he took private trading lessons in Munich and practiced mechanical engineering there. Until 1880 he worked in his father's business and until then he mainly devoted himself to the practical exercise of agriculture. In 1880 he took over the independent management of his father's business in Westerham , which consisted of a wood pulp factory, grinding mill, sawmill and economy. From 1887 to 1918 he was a member of the Aibling District Council . He was also a member of the Upper Bavarian District Administrator.

From 1893 to 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Bavaria 7 ( Rosenheim , Ebersberg , Miesbach , Tölz ) and the German Center Party . From 1899 to 1918 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies and from 1924 to 1928 a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
