Judy Parfitt (born November 7, 1935 in Sheffield , England ) is a British actress . She began her career on stage, but has also played supporting roles in television productions and movies since the 1960s.

biography

Judy Parfitt received her acting training from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). She made her stage debut in 1954 in the play Fools Rush In . From 1962 Parfitt also took on supporting roles in television and cinema productions, including television series such as the British production With Umbrella, Charm and Melon and from 2000 in some episodes of the US television series Emergency Room .

Meanwhile, Parfitt continued her work in the theater and played Gertrude in Shakespeare's Hamlet alongside Anthony Hopkins as Claudius and Marianne Faithfull as Ophelia, both on stage and in a cinema adaptation from 1969.
