Youth film camp Arendsee

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jugendfilmcamp Arendsee is an annual camp organized by YouVista UG for young people aged 12 to 26 who are interested in film and media, in which, over a period of 12 weeks, several short films in one week each from the idea to post-production in small teams with professional Support are implemented.

Emergence

The multi-award-winning youth film camp was founded in summer 2014 by actor Norman Schenk in Arendsee (Altmark) . Initially, it was held in the city's old camping cinema, but had to move to a larger area in 2016 due to lack of space. A former holiday camp has been home since then and is visited by up to 600 young people from all over Europe every year.

The lecturers are active in artistic practice as well as in training, and have already participated in well-known films and series, including Inglourious Basterds , The Golden Glove , The First Avenger: Civil War , Babylon Berlin , and many more.

In addition to the Youth Film Camp Classic for young people aged 16 and over, there has also been a Youth Film Camp Starter for children aged 12 to 15 years since 2018 . In 2020, a separate camp for adults aged 30 and over was held for the first time.

Between April and May 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany and the associated measures, the Youth Film Camp Online was held once in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation . There was the possibility, under the guidance of lecturers, to produce one's own films as witnesses in teamwork from home.
