Juha Lallukka (born October 27, 1979 in Kouvola ) is a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Lallukka, who starts for the Kouvolan Hiihtoseura club , made his international debut in February 2001 as part of the Continental Cup in Mäntyharju , where he finished third on the podium. A year later, on March 2, 2002, he made his debut in Lahti as part of the cross-country skiing world cup . In the individual race over 15 km he came in 46th place. Lallukka won his first World Cup points with a 21st place over the same distance on November 27, 2004 in Kuusamo . At the 2005 World Championships in Oberstdorf , he secured 32nd place. In 2006 in Lago di Tesero , Lallukka was used for the first time in the Finnish relay and was among the top ten with her. Also at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo in 2007 , he was part of the relay with Ville Nousiainen , Sami Jauhojärvi and Teemu Kattilakoski , in addition to the start in the 15 km individual race, which he surprisingly finished eleventh . After four 10 km, the team crossed the finish line in sixth place in the victory of Norway with a gap of about two minutes.

In the 2007/08 season Lallukka started with an eighth place in the relay at the World Cup in Davos . He was also able to score points in the individual World Cup in Rybinsk. However, it was his last start on an international level for the time being. He came back to the national team in January 2009. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he ran the 50 km in 15th place.

On December 13, 2009 Lallukka started in Livigno for the first time in the Cross-Country Skiing Marathon Cup and finished in 24th place. It was his only start in the series. A few weeks later, he won silver at the Finnish Championships in Keuruu over the 10 km freestyle. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , Lallukka started over the 15 km individual distance and finished 34th.

At the 2011 World Championships in Oslo , Lallukka surprised with eighth place over 50 km after he had just missed his first World Championship medal in his career in fourth in the Finnish relay. At the end of the season on March 27, 2011 Lallukka won his first title at the Finnish championships over 50 km.

In November 2011, Lallukka tested positive for the banned growth hormone (HGH) somatropin and received a two-year ban. Lallukka took action against the suspension and sued the International Court of Justice for Sports (CAS). This confirmed the block, but prompted a new review of the analysis process. Lallukka has not competed in an international race since its suspension expired and is still listed as "suspended" by the International Ski Federation. His only start so far is sixth place at the Finnish Championships 2014 in Vaajakoski .
