Jules Cluzel (born October 12, 1988 in Montluçon , Allier , France ) is a French motorcycle racer .

Career

Jules Cluzel debuted in 2005 on a 125- cc - Malaguti at the French Grand Prix in the motorcycle world championship . Since 2006 he has been competing permanently in the World Cup. In 2006 and 2007 the French competed in the quarter-liter class on privately used Aprilias . In the 2008 season, Cluzel was under contract with the factory team of the Chinese manufacturer Loncin in the 125cc class, but was not able to get into the points once in 15 races.

In 2009 Jules Cluzel competed for the Italian private team Matteoni Racing in the 250 cc class. At the opening race, the Grand Prix of Qatar in Losail , he achieved the first podium of his World Cup career with second place behind the Spaniard Héctor Barberá . After that, however, Cluzel could no longer build on this result and finished the season in twelfth place overall.

In 2010 Jules Cluzel competes for Forward Racing on Suter in the newly created Moto2 class. His teammate is the Italian Claudio Corti . At the start of the season in Qatar, the Frenchman finished third again on the podium. His first victory in the motorcycle world championship followed four races later at the Grand Prix of Great Britain in Silverstone in a total of 71 races of his career.

In the 2012 season , Jules Cluzel competed in the Supersport World Championship for Team PTR Honda on a Honda CBR 600 RR . The Frenchman immediately became vice world champion with four wins.
