July Konstantinowitsch Kowneristy

July Konstantinowitsch Kowneristy ( Russian Юлий Константинович Ковнеристый ; December 13, 1937 in Charkow ; † May 17, 2007 in Moscow ) was a Russian physical chemist , materials scientist and university professor .

Life

Kowneristy, the son of an engineer and a pulmonologist , studied at the Moscow State Technical University "NE Bauman" (MWTU) with a degree in 1960. There followed an apprenticeship there with a degree in 1963. From 1964 he taught at the Moscow Technological Institute.

In 1966, Kowneristy moved to the Moscow Baikov Institute for Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR) and stayed there until his death. In addition, he has taught at MWTU since the early 1980s (when he was appointed professor at the Chair of Construction Materials in 1985). From 2003 he taught at the Lomonosov University in Moscow . His field of work was metallic construction materials. One focus of his work was processes for the production of stents . He also developed amorphous alloys, in particular based on titanium , zirconium , nickel and copper .

Kowneristy was a member of the Council for Ecology to the mayor of Moscow (1998) and the International Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), and he was with editor of five journals.

Kowneristy's grave is in the Troyekurovo cemetery in Moscow .
