Julian Ratei (born July 12, 1988 in Bayreuth ) is a German football player .

youth

After Ratei had started playing football at the Sportring Bayreuth , he later joined the largest football club in his hometown, SpVgg Bayreuth . In summer 2003 he moved from the north of the Free State of Bavaria to the state capital Munich in the south. There he entered the youth training center of TSV 1860 Munich . In the following years he went through the youth teams. He was also invited to the junior national teams several times during this time. He made his debut on October 14, 2003 against Turkey's U16s . He played a total of six times for the German U-16s , twice for the U-17s , for the U-18s he played two games and in the U-19 selection he was used three times in autumn 2006. As in the club, he often played in the national team with Alexander Eberlein in defense. In 2007 he was on the verge of being appointed to the second division squad by coach Marco Kurz , but a cruciate ligament tore initially prevented his promotion to professional football.

TSV 1860 Munich

Ratei had his first appearance for the second team of the sixties in the Regionalliga Süd on August 25, 2006 when playing at the second representative of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Although he was nominally still a member of the A-Youth, five more appearances in the U23 of the Munich Lions followed this season . After the cruciate ligament rupture, he was out for almost a year, and was only used regularly again in the 2008/09 season . Also in the following season he was in the squad of the little lions at almost all games , but he was only used twelve times. In the first half of the 2010/11 season he played all games for the U23 with the exception of a short injury break, most of them as captain of the team.

During the winter break, coach Reiner Maurer brought him into the extended second division squad. At the game of Sechzger in Osnabrück on January 21, 2011 Ratei was for the first time in the squad of the first team. By the end of the season he belonged to the second division squad three times, but he was not used. He played four times for the first team in friendly matches. For the second team Ratei had played a total of 59 times in the league.

SV Darmstadt 98

In summer 2011, he moved to the right in the 3. Liga ascended SV Darmstadt 98 . There he made his first appearance in professional football at the season opener of the lilies on July 23, when he was on the starting line-up against VfL Osnabrück. While Ratei found a regular place in the Darmstadt defense in the first half of the 2011/12 season, he had to step down in the second half due to injury.
