The Jungbach is a 6.26 kilometer long mountain stream in the Swiss canton of Valais . It rises in Jungtal , is mainly fed by glaciers and Jung crashes after 3.56 kilometers at the end of Jungtals 1,272 meters above the steep rock wall left of the Matter valley after another 2.7 km to the hamlet Esch north of St. Niklaus village in the Mattervispa .

Kraftwerk Jungbach AG
Kraftwerk Jungbach AG was founded on July 2, 2012, in which the community of St. Niklaus has a 51% stake and Aletsch AG, a subsidiary of EnAlpin AG, has a 49% stake. Their power plant on Jungbach was inaugurated on April 29, 2015. The water intake is located in the Jungtal at an altitude of 2360 m above sea level. Ackersand power plant 2
Since 2003 and after it has been used by KW Jungbach AG, the Jungbach has been fed into the system of the 12.5 km long pressure tunnel of the Ackersand 2 hydropower plant operated by Aletsch AG. The relevant licensees are the communities of St. Niklaus , Grächen , Embd , Törbel , Stalden , Staldenried and Zeneggen .
