The mouth of the Tiefen Streitpingen tunnel near Luhy
The settlement was created in connection with the tin mining around the mining town of Platten . The name stallion has nothing to do with the male horse, but is a landscape designation that the first inhabitants from Franconia brought with them to the Ore Mountains . The Erzgebirgskamm between the Plattenberg and the Spitzberg near Gottesgab was originally referred to as the stallion or stallion mountain . There was a lot of mining here in the 16th century.
In contrast to the Revier (Alter) Hengst (later Hengstererbe ) operated from 1545 , the settlement at the confluence of the Totenbach in the Schwarzwasser a little later was called Jungehengst. At the same time there were the mining settlements of Großer and Kleiner Hengst between Abertham and Gottesgab. Like young stallions, these belonged to that part of the Saxon rulership of Schwarzenberg , which was ceded to the Kingdom of Bohemia after the Schmalkaldic War . The residents who remained Protestant had to accept the Catholic faith or leave the country after the Thirty Years' War. Several residents crossed the border into the neighboring Electorate of Saxony and were among the founders of Johanngeorgenstadt . In the 18th century, the Selingische Blaufarbmühle existed in young stallions .
Geier's Gasthaus, which was located directly on the road that passed by, was particularly popular. Most of the houses in the small community were demolished after the Germans were expelled from Czechoslovakia after World War II. Was preserved u. a. the forester's house, which has since fallen into ruin.
