Juraj Kucka [ ˈjuraj ˈkutska ] (born February 26, 1987 in Bojnice , Czechoslovakia ; now Slovakia ), also known by his nickname Kuco , is a Slovak football player .

Club career

Kucka began playing football for FK Prievidza , and in his youth he also played for Radvaň and FO ŽP Šport Podbrezová . In 2005 he made his debut in men's football in Podbrezová , which was then playing in the Slovak second division. In early 2007, the midfielder was committed by the first division club MFK Ružomberok . There Kucka immediately played into the starting eleven. In two years he came to 49 missions in which he scored eight goals.

In January 2009, Kucka moved to the top Czech club Sparta Prague , where he signed a three-year contract. The Slovakian won the Czech championship with Sparta in the 2009/10 season. In the winter transfer period he moved to the Italian club CFC Genoa . In August 2011, Inter Milan got 50% of the transfer rights for 8 million euros, Inter gave Kucka a five-year contract, and Kucka was supposed to stay in Genoa until the end of 2011. Inter Milan had the opportunity to sign him for the second sum of eight million in the winter of 2011/12.

On August 28, 2015, Kucka moved to AC Milan . He signed a four-year contract until June 30, 2019. In the 2018/19 winter transfer period, he moved to Parma Calcio .

National team

Kucka made his debut after eleven games for the Slovak U-21 selection on November 19, 2008 in a friendly against Liechtenstein in the Slovak national team . He was in the Slovak squad for the finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa .

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Slovak squad. In all four games in the tournament he was part of the team and always played for the full playing time. After the successful group stage, the team was eliminated in the round of 16 against Germany.
