The Royal Moroccan Air Force ( Arabic القوات الجوية الملكية, DMG al-Quwwāt al-Ǧawwiyya al-Malakiyya ; Moroccan Tamazight ⴰⴷⵡⴰⵙ ⴰⴳⵍⴷⴰⵏ ⴰⵎⵔⵔⵓⴽⴰⵏ ⵓⵊⵏⵏⴰ Adwas Ageldan Amerrukan Ujenna , English Royal Moroccan Air Force , French Forces royales air ) establishes air sovereignty over the Kingdom of Morocco . She is part of the Royal Armed Forces .
history
The Moroccan Air Force was established on May 14, 1956 after the end of the French protectorate .
During the Algerian-Moroccan War in 1963, the Soviet Union supported Algeria , which led to a breakdown in relations with Moscow. Since then, France and the United States have been the main suppliers to the kingdom.
In 1973 the Royal Air Force was involved in the Yom Kippur War with Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter machines .
In 1978 the Royal Air Force took part in the liberation of the hostages at the Battle of Kolwezi in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo ).
During Operation Desert Storm in Iraq in 1991, Morocco sent a symbolic unit to reinforce the security of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia.
The Air Force currently has 16,000 men (elite, airborne troops , pilots , mechanics, etc.).

Marche Verte is the aerobatic team for the Royal Moroccan Air Force.
coup attempt
The 1972 coup attempt by General Oufkir was the darkest chapter in the history of the Forces aériennes .
