A substantial part of the district boundary forms the border to the neighboring state of Hesse . In addition to Gut Dinkelburg in the west-northwest, the Alt-Marienburg and Neu-Marienburg manors to the north also belong to Körbecke. The village is traversed by the Diemel tributary Vombach . To the northwest of the village lies the Körbecker Bruch nature reserve, designated by the Detmold district government , which is around 93 hectares in size.
Neighborhoods
Körbecke is framed in the west by the village of Rösebeck and the core town of Borgentreich , in the north-northeast is the village of Bühne and in the northeast of Muddenhagen . Beyond a forest are the Hessian villages Lamerden in the east-southeast and Ostheim in the southeast, both districts of the town of Liebenau in the south .
history
Körbecke was mentioned as "Churbecke" as early as 750. In the 11th century, two places, large baskets and small baskets were called. Groß-Körbecke corresponded to the current location. The other place was probably devastated at the end of the Soest feud .
In 1660, Bernhard Goeken , who later became provost of Grauhof and prior general of the Windesheim congregation , was born in Körbecke .
The Catholic parish church of St. Blasius was built from 1898–1901 in neo-Gothic forms according to plans by Lambert von Fisenne .
The bailiwick building of the Marienmünster monastery from 1748 is worth seeing.
On January 1, 1975, Körbecke was incorporated into the town of Borgentreich.
