action

Captain Luis de Monterey is accused of being one of the notorious coastal pirates and is sentenced to forced labor. On the way to the prison camp he can lead a mutiny and flee with the other convicts to the pirate nest Tortuga. He becomes a well-known adventurer and pirate. When the war between England and Spain also reaches the pirates, all the men decide for Spain - only the treacherous Olonese has the plan to hand over the ship from Monterey to the British and to betray the base. Luis de Monterey can prevent this from happening.

Reviews

The "quite elaborately designed sea adventure" "spins its colorful sailor's thread, whereby the set pieces of the genre are quoted unduly". The less demanding work is not a showcase project for its director, who has been accused of the staging of the staging, which is almost ridiculous.

Trivia

The outdoor shots were shot on Lake Garda and the studio shots in the Titanus studios in Rome.
