Küttig is a district of Münstermaifeld in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until December 31, 1975, Küttig was an independent municipality.
Geographical location
Küttig is a place north of Münstermaifeld, not far from the Moselle in the center of the front Maifeld.
history
The Archbishop of Trier , Heinrich , exchanged goods with his vassals Arnold and Sigibodus in 964 . The Archbishop received two Hufen zu Mertloch , whereas Arnold and Sigibodus u. a. got a hoof in the villa cuttiaca , which they already owned as a fiefdom. This is the first mention of Küttig. Hufe was land the size of a courtyard, with buildings usually attached. In the years 1466 and 1656 bells of the chapel Maria Magdalena , a building from the 1920s, are mentioned. Large agricultural estates still bear witness to the early courts of the nobility or clerical institutions, which, however, only become tangible in the 14th century. Worth mentioning are the Sponheimer Hof, the courtyard of the St. Kastorstift in Koblenz and the Hof von Cleberg.

The district of Küttig is one of five local districts that were formed by the main statute in Münstermaifeld. The election of a local advisory board is not planned.
Peter Gansen has been the mayor since April 2, 2017. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for five years with 73.15% of the vote.
