Mertloch is a municipality in the district of Mayen-Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate and is administered by the Maifeld association, which has its administrative headquarters in the city of Polch .

history

Mertloch was first mentioned in a document in 964 under the name Martiliacum . The place belonged to the High Court of Münster , which as part of the Pellenz courts was a fiefdom of the Counts of Virneburg from the 13th to the 15th century and then reverted to Kurtrier . Mertloch represented one of Heimburger the court. In 1684 the village had 49 fireplaces . Municipal council

The municipal council in Mertloch consists of 16 council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman. The 16 seats in the municipal council are divided between two groups of voters .

Attractions
