Einig is a local church in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Maifeld Association , which has its administrative headquarters in the city of Polch .
geography
Einig is located in the Obermaifeld 3 km from Polch. Today little agriculture is practiced in Einig. According to “The Middle Rhine Basin”, in 2003 there were only three full-time farmers. Neighboring communities are Mertloch and Gering , the next largest city is Mayen .
history
Einig was first mentioned in 1103. At that time, the St. Stephen's Foundation in Mainz transferred what was then called Inika to the Ravengiersburg monastery . In 1424 it fell to Kurtrier .
According to the Trier fire book of 1563 , nine fireplaces were counted in Einig. In 1680 a chapel was mentioned. The current church was built in 1909. When the new church was built, the choir of the old chapel was retained as a sacristy.

The local council in Einig consists of six council members who were elected by a majority vote in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.
