The steam locomotive KJI No. 23 was a locomotive of the small railways of the Jerichow I district and the small railway Gommern – Pretzien .
The locomotive has an inner frame and a Heusinger control. The third axis is the driving axis. The storage containers are located in front of the driver's cab.
history
After its completion, the locomotive was delivered to the sugar factory in Gommern , where it was in service from 1921 to 1946. Then it was taken over by the Kreiskleinbahn.
It was one of the smallest locomotives on this line, which was nationalized on April 1, 1949. Striking were the small wheels and the narrow structure of the locomotive, which together with the large front windows gave the locomotive a special appearance. Due to the inefficient machine and the lack of a train brake, the locomotive was only used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn at Burg station for shunting. After the closure of the last narrow-gauge line in Burg in 1965, it was sold to “Ballerstedt Transport KG”, the former “Kleinbahn und Kraftwerk Pretzien GmbH”, from 1975 “VEB Sandgruben Pretzien (Elbe)”. It was only used there for about a year. In 1975 it was erected as a memorial in front of the Gommern train station .
