Cabinet Rõivas I.
The first government of the Republic of Estonia under Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas ("Cabinet Rõivas I") took office on March 26, 2014. According to official census, it was the 47th government of the Republic of Estonia since independence was declared in 1918. The government remained in office until April 9, 2015. After the parliamentary elections on March 1, 2015, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas formed a new coalition government ( Rõivas II cabinet ).

After the end of the liberal-conservative government coalition under Prime Minister Andrus Ansip , the previous Minister of Social Affairs Taavi Rõivas formed a new two-party government in March 2014. It consisted of the liberal Reform Party ( Reformierakond ) and the Social Democratic Party ( Sotsiaaldemokraatlik Erakond ). The previous Prime Minister Ansip moved to Brussels as a member of the European Commission after the European elections .
The Reform Party had 33 MPs in parliament ( Riigikogu ), the Social Democrats 19 MPs. The government thus had a slim absolute majority of 52 of the 101 mandates.
There were eight men and six women in the cabinet.
