The Stresemann II cabinet was a cabinet of the Reich government during the Weimar Republic ; it was in office from October 6th to November 30th, 1923 and thus succeeded the Stresemann I cabinet . With Gustav Stresemann for the last time was a Chancellor of the National Liberal People's party in office. At the end of the crisis year 1923 it was replaced by the Marx I cabinet , in which Stresemann remained foreign minister .
During the tenure of this government, the Reich was in a state of emergency (according to Article 48 of the Reich Constitution). Initially, the executive power was transferred to the Reichswehr Minister Otto Geßler (so-called civil emergency). On the occasion of the Hitler putsch on the night of November 8th to 9th, 1923, President Friedrich Ebert transferred executive power to General Hans von Seeckt, chief of the Army Command (military emergency).
