The Stresemann I cabinet was the government team of the Reich government during the Weimar Republic ; it was in office from August 13th to October 4th, 1923 . Gustav Stresemann became the first Reich Chancellor of the national liberal German People's Party .
On September 26th, Reich President Friedrich Ebert declared a state of emergency over the entire Reich and transferred executive power to Reichswehr Minister Otto Gessler .
