Cabinet Ebert
The Ebert cabinet was created when the incumbent German Chancellor Max von Baden announced the emperor's abdication on November 9, 1918 and, unconstitutionally - and thus in a revolutionary act - transferred his office to Friedrich Ebert . Since the state secretaries remained in office, initially only the person of the Reich Chancellor changed, later some state secretaries were replaced. On November 10, 1918, Ebert formed the Council of People's Representatives from the MSPD and USPD, under whose supervision the cabinet remained in office, although - without the office of Reich Chancellor having been formally revoked - Ebert's function as Reich Chancellor behind his capacity as one the Chairman of the Council of People's Representatives resigned.
