The Marx I cabinet was a cabinet of the Reich government during the Weimar Republic . It was in office from November 30, 1923 to May 26, 1924 . This made it the first cabinet of the republic to rule in the Second German Reichstag .
When this government took office, the Reich was in a state of military emergency due to an emergency decree of the Reich President of November 8, 1923 ( Hitler putsch ), which lasted until February 28, 1924. During this time the executive power was transferred to the chief of the army command, General Hans von Seeckt .
