Kaiserpreis (art)
The Kaiserpreis was an Austrian art prize that was donated on April 18, 1890 by Emperor Franz Joseph I from private funds. It was intended to "promote patriotic artistic endeavors" and until 1918 was preferably awarded to highly talented young artists.
The prize consisted of a box with 400 gold ducats and was the highest artistic award of the cooperative of visual artists of Vienna.
