Kaja Juvan (born November 25, 2000 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian tennis player .

Career

Kaja Juvan, who loves to play on clay courts, started playing tennis at the age of five.

In December 2016 she won the Orange Bowl , the most important junior tournament after the four Grand Slams. In 2017 she won the Wimbledon title in doubles alongside Olga Danilović . In the final they defeated Catherine McNally / Whitney Osuigwe 6: 4 and 6: 3.

She played her first professional tournament in 2015 in Velenje . At the moment she mainly plays tournaments on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has already won seven singles and one double title.

At the Hungarian Ladies Open 2018 she played for the first time on a tournament of the WTA Tour . The organizers gave her a wildcard for qualification . In October she won the gold medal in singles and doubles at the Summer Youth Olympic Games .

As a lucky loser, she was in a main field of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at the 2019 French Open . She lost her decisive qualification game to reach the main round against Bernarda Pera with 4: 6, 6: 1, and 6: 7 1 . She benefited from Petra Kvitová's injury-related cancellation . However, she lost her first round match against Sorana Cîrstea 7: 5, 4: 6 and 5: 7.

In 2017 she had her first appearance with the Slovenian Fed Cup team . She has won four of her eleven appearances to date.
