Catherine "Caty" McNally (born November 20, 2001 in Cincinnati ) is an American tennis player . Her older brother, John McNally, is also a professional tennis player.

Career

McNally started playing tennis at the age of three and prefers the hard court for her game. So far she has mainly played on the "ITF Junior Circuit" and on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has won two singles and five doubles titles so far. She played her first professional tournament in February 2016.

In 2017 she reached the quarter-finals in junior doubles at the French Open with her partner Whitney Osuigwe . At Wimbledon , the two also reached the final in the junior doubles.

In August 2017 she and her partner Alexa Glatch received a wildcard for the doubles competition at the Western & Southern Open , where they were defeated by Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua 2: 6 and 4: 6 in the first round of the pairing . The following week she received a wildcard for qualifying in the women's singles at the US Open , where she defeated Polina Monowa 6: 3, 2: 6 and 6: 4 in the first round before she defeated Anna Karolína Schmiedlová with 0: in the second round : 6 and 2: 6 lost.

On June 9, 2018, she won the junior doubles title at the French Open with her partner Iga Świątek . She missed the title in the junior singles with a close 6: 1, 3: 6, 6: 7 ¹ defeat in the final against Cori Gauff . On September 9, 2018 she won the junior doubles at the US Open together with Cori Gauff .

At the Australian Open , the 18-year-old competed in doubles again with Cori Gauff.
