course

The source of the cold water is located in the northern Burgwald ( natural area 345.1) in a meadow about 1.3 km east of Willersdorf a few meters north of the district road K 99 from Willersdorf to Oberholzhausen . From there the brook flows about 400 m to the west-south-west, then crosses under the district road K 99, which bends there from south-west to north-west, and then runs roughly parallel to the road on its south side for about 800 m in a north-westerly direction to Willersdorf. There it crosses again under the K 99 ("Linnerstrasse"), this time to the north, and flows through the village on its north side for a total of around 700 m between the old town center and a new development area, first taking in a small nameless stream flowing in from the northeast and then channeled underground, crossing the sports field .

After leaving Willersdorf, the cold water runs about 1.9 km to the west, after 1.5 km takes on the Kaltebach coming from the south , and turns at the Linnermühle , about 30 m before what the local population calls "Küppel" or "Kippel" called Burgstall Linne , around the "Linnerberg" (375.2 m) to the north. Now partially following the state road L 3076, the stream flows east past Bottendorf and after 1.5 km takes on the Listenbach coming from the east . Then it flows about 2.5 km in a long arc first in a north-northeast, then north and finally west to Frankenberg. The short Stennerbach coming from the east flows to it east of Frankenberg , before the cold water crosses the B 253 and then on the southern edge of the built-up urban area the “Rosenthaler Straße” and the street “In der Hohle”. Immediately afterwards it feeds a small pond and flows into the Nemphe coming from Bottendorf from the south at the Frankenberg city park.
