Willersdorf is a district of Frankenberg (Eder) in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

Willersdorf is located southwest of the Knebelsrod , the highest elevation in the castle forest , about 5 km southeast of the Frankenberg core city and is traversed by the Nemphe tributary cold water . District road  99 ( Oberholzhausen - Bottendorf ) runs through the village and leads to state road  3076 (Frankenberg - Rosenthal ) , which runs a little west of the village .

There is no connection to Frankenberg via the urban area. The town center is on the shortest path over the to the municipality Burgwald belonging Bottendorf reach.

history

Willersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1294 as Wilhartisdorf . After 1616 miners from the Frankenberg Revier settled in the village.

On 1 July 1971. Willersdorf was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Frankenberg (Eder) (former spelling Frankenberg-Eder ) incorporated . Mayor is Klaus-Peter Stein (as of August 2011).

The place had a total of 375 inhabitants in 1939. In 1961 there were 398, in 2004 a total of 658 and in 2014 619 inhabitants.
