Friedrichshausen is a district of Frankenberg (Eder) with about 380 inhabitants in the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

Geographical location

Friedrichshausen is located northwest of Knebelsrod , the highest elevation in the castle forest , about 4 km east-southeast of the Frankenberg core town. Landesstraße  3073 ( Römershausen −Frankenberg) runs directly north past the village .

history

The settlement was founded in 1777 by order of the then Landgrave Friedrich II. 20 families were settled here.

A railway construction planned before the First World War and partly already started and thus the connection to the Kellerwald Railway to be extended came to an abrupt end with the lost war in 1918.

Territorial reform

On Dec. 31, 1970 Frederick Hausen was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse in the city Frankenberg (Eder) (former spelling Frankenberg-Eder ) voluntarily incorporated .

Population development

While Friedrichshausen only had 131 inhabitants in 1895, the number of inhabitants rose to 359 by 1995 and in 2005 reached the previous high of 382 inhabitants.
