The canton of Valence is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Castelsarrasin in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . The main town is the city of Valence . Jean-Michel Baylet ( PRG ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1985 .
Name of the canton
The official name of the canton is according to the Institut géographique national Valence . At the same time, the name Canton de Valence-d'Agen is also in use.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Valence included the eleven municipalities of Castelsagrat , Espalais , Gasques , Golfech , Goudourville , Lamagistère , Montjoi , Perville , Pommevic , Saint-Clair and Valence . Its layout corresponded to an area of 125.40 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8222.
