The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Castelsarrasin and the canton of Valence (until 2015: canton of Bourg-de-Visa ). The inhabitants are called Brassacais .

Brassac is located about 37 kilometers northwest of Montauban on the Séoune . Brassac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bourg-de-Visa in the north and north-west, Fauroux in the north and north-east, Saint-Nazaire-de-Valentane in the east and south-east, Castelsagrat in the south and Montjoi in the west and south-west.
