Dunes is a French commune in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne in the region Occitania (before 2016: Midi-Pyrenees ). The municipality with 1,200 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) is located in the arrondissement of Castelsarrasin and is part of the canton of Garonne-Lomagne-Brulhois (until 2015: canton of Auvillar ). The inhabitants are called Dunois .

geography

Dunes is the westernmost commune of the Tarn-et-Garonne department. It is located about 17 kilometers southeast of Agen . Dunes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Caudecoste in the north, Saint-Sixte in the north, Donzac in the east, Saint-Cirice in the southeast, Sistels in the south, Gimbrède in the southwest and Cuq in the west.

The A62 autoroute runs through the municipality .
