Lavit (also: Lavit-de-Lomagne ; Occitan : La Vit ) is a French commune with 1,589 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Castelsarrasin and the canton Garonne-Lomagne-Brulhois (until 2015: canton Lavit ). The inhabitants are called Lavitois .

geography

Lavit is about 57 kilometers northwest of Toulouse in Lomagne . Lavit is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Castéra-Bouzet in the north, Asques in the north and northeast, Saint-Arroumex in the northeast, Gensac in the east, Esparsac in the southeast, Maumusson in the south, Montgaillard in the southwest and Balignac and Puygaillard-de-Lomagne in the west.
