Castelmayran is a French commune with 1,210 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Castelsarrasin and the canton of Garonne-Lomagne-Brulhois (until 2015: canton of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave ). The inhabitants are called Castelmayranais .
geography
Castelmayran is located about 25 kilometers west of Montauban and about five kilometers west of Castelsarrasin on the Sère . The Garonne crosses two enclaves of the municipality. Castelmayran is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave in the north and north-west, Castelsarrasin and Saint-Aignan in the east, Castelferrus in the south-east, Garganvillar and Angeville in the south and Caumont in the west.
